Limmud Czech Republic, 2022
The Limmud Czech Republic 2022, a residential learning and community event, was held in Prague between 25-29 May 2022.
This year, the program offered a wide variety of activities for adults and children featuring lectures, workshops, discussions, discos (both for kids and adults), sports activities, Torah stories crafts, joint meals, Shabbat program etc. The organisers created an inclusive atmosphere where everybody could feel welcome, bringing together people of all ages and various Jewish backgrounds and spending meaningful social time together, taking part in a Judaism-orientated retreat.
The Limmud Czech Republic 2022 wanted motivated people to come as volunteers and together with them create a nice learning environment that inspired them to share best practices and implement them with their communities. The goal of the project was to strengthen Jewish identity, explore the cultural heritage and create a thriving Jewish community. Ten young Jewish leaders helped with the children’s program while having their own learning experiences throughout the mornings. The aim is to bring Jewish people back to their roots and interests.
The initiative filled the event capacity of 200, with 104 of the attendees being children. The event was set in an open and democratic environment where people of different approaches to Judaism were given space to different sessions. Nearly two-thirds of all the adults volunteered either in presenting learning sessions, preparing workshops for children, serving as medical aid or helpeing with the logistics of the event.
